I haven't seen it yet - does the new ST movie pass?

Here's a list of movies with Bechdel ratings: http://bechdel.nullium.net/ including the following films which I have seen which apparently pass:

The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
Alien (1979)
Labyrinth (1986)
Aliens (1986)
Thelma and Louise (1991)
Sense and Sensibility (1995)
Outbreak (1995)
Jane Eyre (1996)
Starship Troupers (1997)
Deep Impact (1998)
Pitch Black (2000)
Bend it Like Beckham (2002)
Calender Girls (2003)
Shrek 2 (2004)
The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
The Incredibles (2004)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
Mamma Mia! (2008)

Actually, it was a Star Trek bechdel post that inspired this community!

So very barely, though. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil you!

PS: When you go and watch it, look out for the Mo Movie Measure. I wasn't thinking about it at the time, so I didn't think to watch out for names.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End? If I Recall Correctly, Tia Dalma and Elizabeth only share four sentences of conversation, and two of those sentences are about Jack. Does that really make it pass?

Oi, I'm much harder on movies than they are. I want a whole conversation! :)

I agree! Or, at the very least, several back and forths on something!

I think I'm going to tag everything that doesn't meet that measure under "technical pass", hehehe.

Me too! I feel a little squicky passing movies when the characters who cause the pass are in no way central to the story (like in the new Star Trek movie). Maybe we should add a mega-pass level for movies like Persepolis!

I'm half tempted to put on Persepolis and count all the conversations passing the Bechdel Test.

ETA: Except I still think it's at your place from when we watched it, ha!
