I found the lighthearted romance Penelope to be whimsically delightful. You can see a trailer here. Additionally, it passes!

Not only does it pass, but it does so in a really pleasing and nontrivial way. Penelope is stuck for most of her life in her parent's house, being trotted in front of blue bloods in the hopes that one will marry her and thus break her piggy-faced curse.

The part I like best is how in order to find love, what Penelope has to do is to venture out into the world and accept herself and become an independent person. The movie makes an important part of accepting herself to be finding a female friend--and Penelope and that female friend have conversations about all sorts of things that aren't men. Only after Penelope refuses to accept that marrying any man willing who could "fix" her does she end up with the man that her heart was into--who coincidentally also had to fix himself, by himself. And once both of them are individually more complete, more fulfilled, happier overall, with directions in life that aren't dependent on each other, can they meet and be together.

Other passing the movie does is in conversations between Penelope and her mother, although these often serve as examples of unfulfilling communication!
